A great school year, so far.
August 21, 2008
This year has had a great start. Everyone has actually been doing their homework and no big suprises on edline, so far. Hope we all continue to do as well. Josh has decided to run for President of the debate class and has joined the debate team. Yep, that is Josh Webb we are talking about. We will just keep our fingers crossed for the year. He hasn’t had much driving practice lately, as my nerves do not handle it well. I need to suck it up and let him have some experience. Matt turns 15 next week, so I will probably never have sanity again. Definitely not a settle stomach in the car anyway.
We had another death in our home this week. Our guinea pig, Rodney died. He was really old, for a piggie. He just crawled into his cardboard house and died. Thank goodness we didn’t have to put him to sleep. The other animals are in the backyard just digging to China. They are digging a hole so big you cannot see them when they are in there. How do you stop that? Dave’s show dog, Ellie Bell, is not too bright. She cannot figure out to use the bathroom in the yard instead of the patio. I remind Dave everyday, “he brought her home.”
Our little 3 year old nephew, Sam had an accident this week. They were out to lunch and somehow he turned a big metal bar stool type chair onto himself, trying to climb into it. It landed on top of his face. They rushed him in, called in the facial surgeon, and took him into surgery. Poor baby….his lower lip was cut from his chin to his lip all the way through and his upper gum was cut. They sewed all of that back together with multiple sutures. His top teeth are pushed into his gum, so he will have to see the dentist and oral surgeon about this. Poor thing, LeAnn says his face is so swollen and he is only drinking. He is a tough one though and will be back running before too long.
No more news here right now. We are planning on going to Dave’s mom’s a few days after Christmas and snow skiing while there. I have never been snow skiing, but there is a first time for everything. Hope it won’t be a first time for broken bones for any of us.
Off to help with homework, FUN, FUN!
